thank you for visiting my blog. This space is dedicated to a topic of Social Networking and more specifically to its role in our lives.
Today millions of people are members of different social networking websites - Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Friendster and many others. All of these networks promise to serve as the middleman between us and our friends, peers and family. What attracts people to online communities and a virtual life? Is it a need and opportunity to communicate more effectively or are there other reasons for creating personalized online profiles? And most importantly could the “online life” affect the “real life”?
The aim of this blog it to examine reasons for society’s mass participation and consumption of this kind of media. Moreover to look closely at pros and cons of social networking websites and point out how this kind of media affect our real life behavior.
Any comments related to issues discussed in this space are more than welcome. Enjoy reading!

Hey Martina!
Reading your blog made me, a regular facebook user, think about how much information do I really put online for everyone to see. Actually, I have realized that I am spending too much time living in the virtual world, which could be better used outside, with "living" friends. On the other hand, as you have mentioned, social networking sites are really good when used for purpose of communicating with someone who, for example, lives on a different continent.
The blog is very nicely written, shares a few good points, and includes some very funny videos and links (e.g. the status generator :-) ). However, as it was also already mentioned here, I miss a bit of your opinion on the issue.
Nevertheless, thank you for creating this social networking blog, it really made me think about my facebook profile.
Viktorie
